The Long Way Home – John Paul White

The Long Way Home by John Paul White is today’s Track of the Day. It’s the first release from his album, The Hurting Kind, due to be released on Single Lock Records on April 12th.

I’m a big John Paul White fan, I’ve seen him a couple of times live, firstly at the Ryman Auditorium in September 2017, supporting Mary Chapin Carpenter and then last year at the AmericanaFest in Nashville.

I was also lucky enough to see him back home in England when he was with The Civil Wars.

I really enjoyed his 2016 album, Beulah, and have just read on the Single Lock Records website that one of the artists that inspired him for this record was Jim Reeves. My Grandad was a big Jim Reeves fan and I spent many an afternoon with my Grandad listening to his Jim Reeves albums, which I’m now the proud owner of.
