Carrying on the Jimmy Webb theme, I’ve just spun Words and Music, his 1970 album.

I bought this mainly because it had one of my favorite Jimmy Webb tracks, PF Sloan, a song about a fellow songwriter.
I’ve just found out that PF Sloan wrote the Eve of Destruction, the Barry McGuire hit from 1965.
I’ve just come across this article in American Songwriter about “the story behind the song PF Sloan“
On the turntable at the moment, I’m playing Highwaymen, by Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson

The title track, Highwaymen, another Jimmy Webb composition, won a Grammy Award in 1986 for Best Country Song.
