How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last?, released in August 2021, is the second album by Big Red Machine.
Big Red Machine is a collaboration between Aaron Dessner, of The National, and Justin Vernon, leader of Bon Iver.
I’ve been a fan of Bon Iver since their debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago, released in 2007.
I saw Bon Iver at Glastonbury Festival in 2009.
I’m a fairly recent convert to The National, only really becoming aware of them when we moved to Cincinnati in 2014.
I saw The National at their Homecoming Festival in Cincinnati on April 28, 2018 and also saw them at Leeds Direct Arena, in England, on September 23, 2023.
Talking of Cincinnati, one of my favorite tracks of this album, is The Ghost of Cincinnati.
Other favorites being Renegade, featuring Taylor Swift and Phoenix, featuring Fleet Foxes and Anais Mitchell, but there’s not a duff track on this album.
