  • Young Heirlooms Present “The Hammer”

Sticking with the Cincinnati theme a bit longer, on the turntable tonight it’s Young Heirlooms Present “The Hammer”.

Young Heirlooms were one of the many Cincinnati bands I discovered courtesy of, the now defunct WNKU radio station.

I saw Young Heirlooms a couple of times while we lived in Cincinnati.

The first time was on March 7th, 2017, at The Memorial Hall, Over the Rhine, when they supported Durand Jones and the Indications, another band with a link to the Cincinnati area.

The second time was at one of The MidPoint Music Festivals in Cincinnati. I can’t remember which year, so I’ll come back to this when I find the box with all my memorabilia in it.

Back to The Hammer, I’d forgotten how good this album is!

It’s top class from start to finish, but the opening track and the first song of theirs I heard, Silverglade is the standout track for me
